Instant Pot Ghormeh Sabzi

Ingredients

  • ½ cup oil
  • 1 large onion diced
  • 1.5 pounds stew meat
  • tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 Tbsp turmeric
  • 4 cups dried ghormeh sabzi herb mix
  • ¾ cup dry red kidney beans
  • 3 whole dried persian limes (sub ¼ cup fresh lime juice)
  • 4 cups water

Instructions

  1. Set Instant Pot to saute

  2. Heat oil

  3. Add onions and saute until golden brown

  4. Add meat and brown

  5. Add salt, black pepper, and turmeric

  6. Saute for about 2 minutes

  7. Stir in dried ghormeh sabzi herb mix

  8. Add red kidney beans and dried limes

  9. Add water and stir

  10. Cover and set Instant Pot on high for 1 hour

  11. Quick release pressure

  12. Serve over a long grain rice

Recipe Notes

Dried ghormeh sabzi herb mix, dried Persian limes, and turmeric can be found at local Middle Eastern specialty stores. If you don't have a Middle Eastern specialty store close by these items can also be found online.
