Trip to Charleston, South Carolina

This post contains commissionable links.

Wanderlust and Southern city dust. In today’s post, I will share all about my recent trip to Charleston. I will share details on all of my outfits, give a quick rundown of places we visited and what we ate, and finally, I will share the hefty list I created of places to visit and dine before our visit. Let’s jump right, starting with my outfits.

What to Wear

What We Ate and Saw

We stayed at one of the locations manages by The Inns, Charleston. The house was located on 60 Cannon St. and was stunning with its lush greenery, beautiful porch, and charming green door. The house was nicely furnished and was very comfortable.

Day 1 – We arrived late afternoon, settled in, and then had dinner at The Ordinary – I highly recommend the New Orleans Style BBQ White Shrimp and Summer Vegetable Salad. The girls all loved their meals, so I don’t think you can go wrong with anything on the menu.

Day 2 – Brunch at Babas on Cannon. We walked through and shopped at the Charleston City Market. Look for the lemonade stand in the market. We also stopped at Savannah’s Candy Kitchen for some delicious fudge and candied apples. Then we visited the infamous Pineapple Fountain, followed by a walk through the bright and colorful neighborhood on Rainbow Row. We got our steps in that day! Dinner was at Galpao Gaucho Brazilian Steakhouse. Make sure you try the grilled pineapple! Yum! Don’t forget try the delicious cakes and cupcakes at Sugar Bakeshop. The bakery was conveniently located right across our house and was on my list of places to try. I highly recommend it!

Day 3 – We took a sailboat ride on the Schooner Pride and even caught of glimpse of some dolphins! Then we had lunch at Saffron Bakery. I highly recommend the Saffron’s Maza platter. We had dinner at Fuji, and it was amazing! The spicy tuna wonton appetizer was delicious, as were the Christmas, Gamecock, and Elephant rolls. Mmmm, my mouth is watering, remembering that delightful meal. Later that evening, we did a ghost tour with Bulldog Tours and even caught a glimpse of a ghost! I may or may not have freaked my kid out with that story, lol!

Day 4 – We had brunch at Stars Rooftop and Grill Room. The cheese grits and french toast were to die for and the Crawfish & Tasso Vol-Au-Vent, looked mouth-watering. After brunch, we headed back to the city market for the second round of lemonade and a bit more shopping. Then we took a stroll around the Tanger outlet mall close to the airport before heading back home.

Charleston did not disappoint with its stunning sights and delicious food. It was the perfect destination for a girl’s trip.

A couple of tips for you, first you’ll need to make reservations for the more upscale restaurants well in advance. I started looking two weeks before, and it was still not enough time. The other thing is I highly recommend utilizing Charleston Bag Valet if your flight is later than checkout and you want to continue exploring the city. It is an affordable service and was incredibly seamless.

I hope you enjoyed all about my recent trip to Charleston. Will you be traveling soon? Where are you headed? Is Charleston on your list of places to visit? Let’s chat in the comments down below.
