There are so many variations of a green smoothie out there on the interwebs. However, I think mine is by far one of the best. I may be just a tad biased here, but hear me out and give this recipe a whirl. 😉 It’s simple, tastes great, super healthy, and packed with superfoods that will provide you with a boost of energy.
There are no rules when it comes to a green smoothie. I played around with several recipes before coming up with one I loved on my own. If you don’t like dates, use a different type of sweetener, like any nut butter, honey, agave, another fruit, the possibilities are endless. If you don’t like almond milk, use regular milk or coconut milk. Are you catching what I’m throwing here? Play around with it and come up with something YOU love.
What Not to Skip
However, I think the collagen peptides and chia seeds give this smoothie a mega boost so I wouldn’t skip out on those ingredients. Also, get yourself a personal blender. They make clean up so much easier. I love mine, and I highly recommend it! It comes with two 16 ounce cups and two sip and seal lids. This way, you can drink right out of the cup you blended in. Yay for fewer dishes to clean! No more big old expensive blenders needed either. It’s affordable but still powerful. I made the mistake of trying to make salsa in it once. It did not go well. I pulsed, but it still pulverized it into salsa juice. 😖
For reference, here are the benefits of collagen peptides and chia seeds. The brand of collagen peptides I use claims to improve hair, skin, nails, joints, and ligaments, and tendon health. It has 20g of hydrolyzed collagen per serving, you can add it to hot or cold liquids, it is free of gluten, dairy, and sugar, and is Whole30 approved and Paleo-friendly. Chia seeds are loaded with antioxidants, fiber, protein, and omega-3’s. An ideal addition to a vegetarian, vegan, whole food, paleo, ketogenic, and gluten-free diets. They don’t call it a superfood for no reason.
This Super Green Smoothie recipe is loaded with fresh fruits, veggies, fiber, protein, and antioxidants. Super easy to make and very delicious!
