Hidrate is currently offering three different smart water bottles, the HidrateSpark 3, Pro, and TAP. Out of the three, the HidrateSpark Pro is the one I would recommend because it’s chargeable, and the syncing process is automatic.
I will focus on all the options and features of the Pro bottle in this post. The Pro bottle offers either a chug or straw lid, many different colors, and comes in either stainless steel or Tritan plastic. They have many size options, 17, 21, 24, and 32 oz. The possibilities are endless.
I went with the 24 oz Tritan plastic bottle with a chug lid in the color deep blue. I chose the plastic so I could see how much water I had in my bottle as the day progressed. However, the stainless steel option is fantastic for keeping your water cold for hours.
THE GLOW
Drink water but make it fun! The people at Hidrate are geniuses. The glow is the most fun feature of the bottle. The bottle has LED lights around its sensor puck, more on that later, that glow for you throughout the day to remind you to drink up. The lights are customizable with eight different color options, or with GlowStudio, you can customize your color combination to fit your mood.
Not only does the bottle give glow reminders to stay on track, but every time you fill up your water bottle, it will glow blue, pictured on the left, to show you that it knows you just filled up. It will also glow every time you take a sip and set the bottle down, so you know that it’s recorded your intake, and if that’s not enough once you meet your goal, it’ll put on a glow party for you. Can you tell how happy this feature makes me? Lol!
THE PUCK
The sensor puck is where all the magic happens. It twists and snaps into the very bottom of the bottle. The great thing about the sensor puck is that it is rechargeable. The other models take those coin batteries, and I, hands down, prefer the chargeable option. The charging cable is included with the bottle and is easy to use. The LED lights will flash when charging and turn solid green when complete. The puck is how your water intake data is collected. It has Bluetooth capabilities and is how your water intake data is sent to the Hidrate app on your phone.
OTHER FEATURES
The chug lid has a decent size opening with a snap closure which you can lock. Both the chug and straw lids have this sturdy loop for easy carrying. The top is very sturdy, and I haven’t experienced any leaking. Both the bottle and cap are dishwasher safe, but remove the sensor puck before washing.
THE APP
The user-friendly app allows you to access all the settings for your bottle and keep track of your water intake. You’ll be able to set up your reminder settings, see how many bottles are left before you meet your goal, and you’ll also see a pacing marker, so you do not have to chug a ton of water late in the day to catch up. You can also join challenges with other HidrateSpark bottle users under the social tab. Once you reach your goal, the app will put on a fun firework show for you. The app also has apple watch integration, so you’ll be able to see how you’re progressing with just a flick of the wrist.
